Quick Wheel/tube question (1)

O.K. so I’ve been riding a disk for four years now but got a burr in my saddle and bought a HED Jet C2 90…plan on getting a WheelBuilder cover and to use it for my hillier races this year…already got a virtually new ProRace 3 standing by ready to mount…

Question is what combination of valve extender/tube stem length would work best…I would like to keep the same length tube stem for front and rear (use a Zipp 404 front) and I prefer the valve extenders that have an extension in them that “clamps” onto the valve of the tube and can be used to seal the tube after inflation… anyone with any suggested combos???

Thanks,
Paul

Huh? You mean you prefer the Campy style extender where you can remove the tubes OE core?

On the wheelcover - you might want to check with WheelBuilder to see if they have one available for the C2 90. They don’t offer one for the Zipp 1080 - something about the standard mold when trimmed doesn’t match up correctly with the very deep section rims. Also the somewhat flimsy nature of the Jet wheel deep section might not do well when “clamped” on by a cover ??

No, Actually I prefer the ones where you don’t remove the tube’s core, leave that in place and the extender has like a link that extends the knob from the valve itself…this way if I have to change a flat, I just swap the extender to the new tube and go…

Thanks for the tip…I’ll check with them before getting my mind too set on the idea!

Something like this…wondering what sizes (extender and tube stem) would work best with the 90 wheel size…
