Can a college professor force you to drop his class? Administratively I mean, not by making the student’s life hard.

If there is attendance policy and the person is over the allotted absences ,yes.
And…if they are strapped for resources: you’re taking it as an elective, not part of your major. Happened to several of my classmates YEARS ago.
No policy on attendance- Obviously the professor recommended coming to class but it was stated at the beginning of classes that attendance is not mandatory nor add to the grade(does not deduct either).
