By “replaced them all at the beginning of his term” you actually mean “replaced most of them in the first two years,” I take it?
“Reagan replaced 89 of the 93 U.S. attorneys in his first two years in office. President Clinton had 89 new U.S. attorneys in his first two years, and President Bush had 88 new U.S. attorneys in his first two years.”
Read the quotes from Sampson and McNulty. Sampson said they immediately asked for resignations, but staggered them. McNulty said they were all gone by April, for the most part. He replaced them all just like Reagan and Clinton.
And is it even relevant considering all the fired attorneys were his appointees?
