Questions for Planet X Mafia

Anyone here ride a Planet X road bike? Impressions?

rroof has one, as does chiro18.

I’m pretty good friends with chiro and he’s pretty happy with his. I think that rroof is pretty pleased as well.

I see the pretty bikes and get tempted by them. They are pretty sweet.

I ride a Planet-X triathlon bike and really like it. Planet-X makes a quality product in my opinion and has excellent customer service. I actually got an ergomo power meter from them and had a little trouble with the computer in the beginning so they sent me a brand new one no questions asked!

If their road bikes ride like their tri bikes then you can not go wrong.

I wrote a fair amount about my PX. Take a look at my previous post. Most of my impressions are also posted on www.teamplanetx.com

The short answer is that its a great bike. The brand is growing and the reviews have been positive. Top name riders would include Hillary Biscay (sp?) and Gordo Bryn.

Yes, I am quite pleased with my Stealth Carbon Pro. In fact, I never even saw one before I got mine and I was actually a little nervous as I have/had some pretty nice steeds. Current road bike is a Cervelo Soloist Carbon, preceeded by a Litespeed Vortex. Previous tri bike a nice Guru, etc. It is just as nice, if not nicer, then all. Fortunately, the geometry (very important for a tri bike) fits me perfect. Comfy, yet stiff and responsive. The low cost (for now) is just icing on the cake.

I know very little about their road bikes and I only know one guy around that has one, and he loves it (he came from a Cannondale CAAD5 I think). Basically a well designed geometry, Taiwan built, European tested road bike at an awesome cost. Nothing more (i.e aero frames like a Soloist) and nothing less (generic frame, cheap lugs, etc.). Click on my link below and surg to some forums that discuss their road bikes (mostly Europeans posting though - but they know road bikes!)

Not to hijack your thread, but does anyone know if they sell the Pink Stealth or do you need to be a sponsored rider to get that? I looked on the site, and maybe i was missing it, but couldnt figure it out. thanks!

Nope they sell it! They are also in the process of introducing some new colors: I’ve seen a nice royal blue and a pretty pearl type white.

I like the hot pink, I’m just neither female nor anywhere near fast enough to ride one! Jonnyo on the other hand …

Oh sweet! I’ll have to check that out. I have a Kalibur I am happy with now, but maybe in the future?
