What does this mean: SIR ENGR
I have a guy who keeps siging his name SIR ENGR ________________.
I have never seen that title before and cannot find anything via google-fu. Maybe I am spelling it incorrectly?

I don’t know the answer to that, but is it possible his writing is poor and he’s signing “Sr. Engr” as shorthand for senior engineer?
Any chance he is of African, Indian, or Pakistani descent? I have seen that type of designation (SIR + Professional degree or vice versa) with folks from those areas before.

Nigerian. He claims to have a mechanical engineering degree, which we are attempting to verify.
So, you believe this is “Sir” followed by “Engr” for “Engineer.” Correct?

That was my first thought, but, he has typed it multiple times.
Yup - that formal type of designation is often used in Nigeria by people with advanced degrees (or claiming to have advanced degrees) , some cultural thing. and yes, engineer. I have run into a few times in the IT world.
Cool. Thanks!
Odd, Chrysler seems to use it also http://www.glassdoor.com/Salaries/nvh-lead-engineer-sir-salary-SRCH_KO0,21.htm
Im an NVH engineer 25 yrs and have no clue what the SIR is for.

So is he no longer a Nigerian prince and is now an engineer that needs your help to posthaste deposit the sum of $900million american dollar in to your bank account?
What I’m getting out of this is that ST is now admissable as evidence in a court of law!

Exactly!
This guy is something. When I heard he was from Nigeria, I started laughing my ass off.
I did some searching for this when you first posted. Seems to be an isolated Indian thing. Comes up in job postings and the Glassdoor income sites. Odd.
