Question on installing bar end shifters and brake levers

I want to experiment with putting bar end shifters and brake levers on my converted road bike. I presently have it set up with pursuit bars, aero bars and sti shifters on the base bars. Not sure what brake levers to go with.

Is the Dia Comp 188 the only brake lever available with outside cable routing? If I go to Syntace Space Control levers which I understand are internal routing, I assume I need a new base bar with holes drilled for the exit right? I assume it would be a bad idea to drill holes in Profile Design bars? Thanks!!

I have seen more than one person drill a hole in their bar for the cables…you would want to make sure that you get a nice clean hole and use a rat tail file to take off any sharp edges…your hole is no diffrent from their hole…(was that worded wrong?)
.

What Record dude says but with one caveat: Remember to not drill on a bend and in a place with plenty of flat area around it. Between the stem and the aerobar clamp is generally the place you want to go.
