Question for vendors

Is it better for you to have someone buy directly from you or from one of the stores that carries your products?

Depends. Many MFG’s do not have the systems to ship 'onesie twosie" orders to consumers - but will at full MSRP. The fact is that more often than not it is cheaper to use Distie/VAR and often the consumer can get a lower price from a VAR or local dealer than they can from MFG or the web. For me, it is not at all uncommon to get 15% right off the top of a pre-paid special order item with out even asking. Recently I did that at a running store when I ordered 15 pair of Belego socks…I got them for FAR less than that of the MFG’s site or even RoadRunner.

I guess I’m thinking like Desoto or cobb products where the VAR price is the same as the direct price. Is there more value to the vendor in me creating demand with their retail partner than not having to split a profit margin.

No no - VAR price (MSRP) is not always the same as Mfg. resell price (who always for the most part sell at MSRP). It is ALWAYS better to have a stocking dealer with employees selling your product to consumers and the ability to try things on (in the example of clothing). Again, many MFG’s have their product go from the factory right to Distie. and never touch it…when they have the one off orders SOME have such a cost involved with the packing and shipping.

For DeSoto for instance - if you want some SMOKING deals just look here…

2x, but I swear it’s because I’m big boned…and I like ham.

I ordered one discount item and one current item today, just got a tracking number from them. That’s awesome turn around time.

The link cost me $ 113.00, but well worth it!!!

Thanks
