I have a question about retainers. I haven’t been to the orthodontis for about 10+ years, probably closer to 12 or 13 years. The last time I was there I was told to wear my retainer one night a week and if it were uncomfortable when I put it in to wear it for a second night that week. I did this religiously up until a about two months ago when I was traveling for three weeks and I didn’t want to risk losing my retainer so I left it at home. I wore it one night when I got home and then haven’t worn it again. My question is, do your teeth change over time? And should I go to an orthodontist to have it checked, or am I okay wearing the retainer as is? About three years ago I moved from a metropolitan area to a pretty rural area and I’m semi-concerned about the local talent in the field of orthodontistry. I realize this is a ‘critique my teeth’ thread and its impossible to say, without risking your license, but what do you think? Thanks!
