I am not 100% certain on this- but I believe the graphics are a part of the outer matt finish layer. As such, it isn’t likely they can be easily removed as in, just peeled off.
You may be able to cover them with a dir-cut decal from a local sign shop. Those vinyl die-cuts can be made quite thin and form to round tubes very well.
I guess anything can be taken off. … but they are part of the finish, not put on after the finish. . . .so it would take some work, probably more than it is worth to get them off.
It is a 2003 model.
I saw on ebay Colnago stickers for sale. If you win the auction, you would be able to cover the Giant with Colnago.
no, i ride the yellow stripe version. the decals are under the top coat.
In a word - yes! In 2003, no clear coat was used on the carbon frames and, for lack of the more proper terminology, the graphics were silk-screened onto the frameset and can be removed but it will require some work and someone who knows how to do it. Upside - stealth, no name, carbon monocoque finish frameset. Down-side - Giant warranties carbon for 5-years but the process necessary to remove the graphics will pretty much void any warranty you might get from Giant.
what does the process involve? Who/what kind of person could do it?
sandpaper…

Do you by chance know anybody who has polished the valve covers on their automobile’s engine or maybe the frame of a motorcycle (crotch rocket)? Media blasting (very small plastic beads get blasted over the frame) is the quickest method but can be cost prohibitive depending on who does it (transmission places occasionally use that type of equipment to clean trannies). Wet sanding is the most direct, least expensive method (just have to buy several grades of really fine grit emmory/sand paper) but it is also the most time/labor intensive and if done wrong, you will not be happy with mryriad scratches that are left all over the frame.
sounds scary
