Big snow Monday morning. Roads and bike paths were dry Tues morning when I rode. Yesterday was warm and today I rode in shorts. It should be warm for the next few days.
For a big climb, try Deer Creek/High Grade road. The best times to ride are mornings on weekends and after rush hour on weekday mornings.
Oh yeah, you can park at Wadsworth and Deer Creek Rd. There’s actually a parking area there because so many people ride there. You can go west into the moutains or east via the service road to Chatfield Reservoir for an easier, flatter ride.
I don’t live in Denver any more, but grew up there. What most people who haven’t lived there don’t realize, is that Denver has a pretty mild climate. It isn’t socked in and frozen over from October through March. There are many winter days where it is sunny and warm. As Bitey said, the Deer Creek Canyon ride is a good challenge. You can get there from just about anywhere in the Denver area by riding the excellent network of trails they have there. Just link up with the South Platte River trail down to Chatfield Reservoir and then you hop on Wadsworth down to Deer Creek Canyon Road. Any bike shop can get you a bike trail map.
Bring it. It will be 70s all weekend and then high 60s. What part of town will you be in? There are places to ride here but with 45 min drive you can be in Boulder.
The snow is long gone, when you get here you will never know except the mountains are still white.

and click on Denver on the map, needs PDF.
These trails are good for weekday rides.
There’s a century ride that goes from Cherry Creek state park, downtown to Confluence park, out to Chatfield etc, so you can pick your distance.
