Question for anyone who did the Cutting Edge 1/2 last year

I am wondering if the course was accurate. I heard that the bike was pancake flat, but there seem to be some really fast bike times. A number of people went under 2:26(>23MPH). That seems pretty fast for a small time race. Any help appreciated. See you there this weekend.

Well, I can’t remember now what my bike computer said last year, but I think it was accurate. It is totally flat, I guess there is maybe one place with a little rise, and you hit that probably 4 times (2xout-and-back). The course is ‘T’-shaped.

It is quite fast, I think the results from last year are reliable. The run is also very very flat. It surprises me that there seem to be only ~100 people on the start list this year.

I’ll be there again, see you on Sunday!

I did this and went back to read my race report and I mentionned numerous times how flet it was. I think it was very accurate. Hopefully they got their act together for that race this year.

Are you coming back this year Marisol?

-C

No… I am doing a half here in ohio!

I did the race last year as well. Went 2:30 even. the course is flat for sure. the swim was ridiculously long last year, by several minutes. although with all the turn around and out and backs it is slightly slower than you may think. There were maybe two small hills but nothing that will slow you down terribly. and the run is flat and lonely and hot as hell.

they lacked community support, so if you find you really rely on people at aid stations and such you better find another race. I dont mind though, since I will be back again this year.

there were a several fast folks last year, she was offering prize money:) but the racer list this year does not have any big names that I know of…

see ya sunday

I’ll be there Sunday too…travel is forcing my level of preparedness to be less than optimal so I guess I’m just looking for a fun (hot) day now.

I don’t know if you all noticed, but on the little “forum” on the cutting edge site, the organizer just posted that the current water temp is 82. No surprises there!

Has anyone else noticed that there are no directions to the race site? Or am I just crazy (or both)?

-C

Yeah, the directions suck/are non-existant. There are some under the “Locations” button, but I remember them not being too difficult.

These are kind-of the directions, but you need to get to Lake Sara. From there it is easy.

Yeah, 82 degree water, 90 degree air temperature and 87% humidity. This has suffer written ALL over it.
