I have a gift certificate to a running store in Chicago and want to use it on a HR monitor. The only brand they carry is Timex. So I was going to buy the Timex Bodylink HR without the GPS. Now my question is if I want the GPS feature later do I have to buy the watch again or can I just buy the GPS unit without the watch?
You can just buy the GPS.
The system is flexible.
I purchased the GPS before the Data Link was being marketed. I Just recently got the H/R monitor and watch, it works fine.
I was thinking about buying one of these, the unit with the heart rate monitor and the GPS unit. I see were there is also a data recorder, is this sold with the package or by itself? On the Timex website it says Using the very latest in digital technology, the Bodylink™ System is a network of up to 4 devices worn on the body that act together as a single information and sport monitoring system.
Is this for the data recorder?
All I am interested in is the GPS, and the heart rate monitior.
Thanks…
data recorder is sold separately
.
You can buy them separately, however, the data recorder is not available at this time.
Timex has been having a problem with it and they keep pushing the release date back.
The latest date was mid Feb. I still have not received it.
I am happy with the performance of the GPS and Heart Rate Monitor we shall see about the Data Recorder
For the people that own this system, are you happy with it? I currently train with a Polar heart rate monitor, but the GPS unit on the Timex interests me for the distance covered on a run.
I have a data recorder. Bought it from roadrunnersports.com. They have it listed on their web site for $74.99.
