A different twist on the age old ST thread about what bike to choose; I am considering a Plasma 2 but have a question. My present ride has identical stack and reach. I presently ride an 81 degree STA. This leads me to my concern, I know the Plasma 2 has a base STA of 76 degrees and the clamp/seat binder has some adjustability but what STA’s are being ridden on these bikes? So please, if you have one of these bikes and know your present STA chime in… Also, what saddle are you riding?
Thanks,
Coop
bump for the day crowd in hopes to get some answers…

this probably isn’t definitive enough to satisfy you, but it’s something.
i had a fit done at a 78* seat tube angle before getting my bike, ended up selecting the plasma 2 despite the 76* seat tube, took it in to set it up with my fit coordinates and had to slam everything forward (fore-aft adjustment of the seat tube clamp all the way forward, and my saddle all the way forward on its rails) to achieve the same coordinates. therefore, i think you will be hard put to reach an 81* effective seat tube angle with the plasma 2
Thanks for the input; any other opinions out there…

my wife rides a plasma 2 the seat hight is a 69.5 and the tip of the saddle is -2.5cm behind BB. The saddle is a specialized jet. I’ll let you figure the angle. She is long leg short torso. 5’7" tall. without looking I think the saddle is in the middle of the clamp and the seat clamp can still be moved forwardm some. I can check tonight if you want.
I used to ride the original Plasma and had the Adamo saddle slammed all the way forward. I think both the Plasma and Plasma 2 have the same base STA.
Sorry, I never calculated the STA, I just adjusted the angle until I felt efficient and comfortable. I have attached a pic though that you can possibly use to guess-timate the STA.
Slowman did awhile back… read all the way at the bottom
