How tight your bike/tri shoes fit? Since, my foot size has grown due to running (collapsing arches) from 8.5 to 10 in the last year or so (running shoe) and the bike shoes i have are really tight now. I mean the big toe hits the front when i wear them(but not that bad). Time to buy new ones?

And about your foot “growing”…wow, I’ve never heard of that before to that extent, hopefully one of the resident foot doctors will chime in.

Oh, should probably mention - that article is OLD, so don’t go looking for those shoe models, but the information is still relevent about shoe fit.

While I agree that the foot needs to be kept stable and not move inside the shoe, it’s terrible if the toes touches the front of the shoe. Might work OK for pure cycling, but with running afterwards (where the toes often touch the front of the shoes) it’s a recipt for blue toe-nails and pain.
I buy cycling shoes in slim models that fits well and can be tightened, but are a tad longer than needed - giving a thight/stable fit with enough room for my toes.
thanks for the link. I definitely need to size up in my tri shoes. My foot size has grown for wearing size 8 to size 10 in the past three years. Same brand and same model!!!
What length is your heel-to-arch in relation to your heel-to-toe length?
from what point to what point exactly shall i take the measurements? Let me know. maybe you are leading onto something interesting here! thanks
