Quattro Pedals

I keep seeing pics and ads for the Crank Bros. Quattro pedals. Just curious–any of you try them and how do they compare with what’s out there?

I have them, the SI version, but since they’re the first clip-ons I’ve ever had, I have nothing to compare them to. They work great for me. Easy in and out, and some float, and you can pedal them with regular shoes on if you really need to since they have a platform.

BUMP!
Surely some of you have tried them. How about you, Dan? Tom? anyone else???

Use Vitruvians.

Seriously, I was shopping for pedals at the local bike shop yesterday and the wrench sez he loves them. Sorry I can’t tell you more, let me know what you find out.

Still luv 'em.

I just wish they had a racing flat with a tricot lining so I could wear them sockless in races.

I’d also be interested in hearing what people have to say about these pedals. I’ve thought about switching to a set of them too after being on a set of speedplay x/3’s for years. I’ve thought about the speedplay zeros, but the quattros also have my eye. I’d be particulary interested in how the float feels since I’ve been on the speedplay free-floating X’s for so long. Thanks.

Are those crickets I hear???

Here’s what Fast Freddy Rodriguez has to say about them. From his web site.

"Q: What one piece of equipment is most important to you and why?

A: I would say pedals. For a while now, I’ve been a rider that likes pedal systems with float, but one that also keeps you tightly engaged to your pedal, especially under lots of torque. Lately, that’s been my reason for using the Crank Brothers pedal system. I have found a pedal system that has those two main characteristics."

Uh! I’m ignorant. What is his website?
