QR Tiphoon Sizing Help

I am ready to buy my new bike! I am going to get a Tiphoon. I have been told based on my size that I should get definitely a 57cm (55.5cm top tube) and definitely a 59cm(57cm top tube) frame. Who is right?I would love to get the opinion of all the fitting experts or QR owners. I am going to be spending a lot of money and want the best size frame that will allow me the most adjustability to play around with the seat angle that works best for me. I am coming off a Softride. I am 6’ 1" with long legs (35"/ 89cm inseam)and a short torso (25"/63.5 cm). I want to get my bike as soon as possible but I don’t know when my bike shop will have a QR in both sizes to compare. I hope soon that I can get on both a 57cm and a 59cm to compare. I would love any guidance on what size frame would best fit my measurements.

Thanks,

Tommy

I am 6’0 with a 34 inseam and I would go with a 55.

Which Softride are you coming off, and why?

it’s easier to lengthen a bike than making it shorter.

I am coming off of a Rocket Wing. I had a Rocket Wing from the first year they came out. I had a warranty issue about a year ago and Softride did me right and I upgraded to a new model. I love my Softride and I have done very well with it but I am ready for a change. I still am not 100% sure if I am going to sell it since I have done very well in 5 Ironman races on a Softride. I have been very happy with my Softride but when I travel to races it will be so nice just to throw a piece of tape on the seat post and I can get my position back easily for the race. I also have bad knees and am looking at doing more shorted distance events.

Tommy - I am a similar size to you. The 57cm would be a better fit. You would most likely be too stretched out on a 59, or have to use a short stubby stem. You will also be able to gt real low on a 57

I vote 57cm, but I wonder about your bike fitters…
