I own a QR SuperFull. Love the suit, esp, the shoulder material. Hate the quick release zipper. I do not need to save a few seconds in transition. I need to be able to get my zipper up and down without help from others. Or without it self-releasing because I zip it too high.
Are the shoulders of an Orca PFlex comparable in terms of flexibility? I am an average swimmer at best…nah, that’s not true, I’m a kruddy swimmer and I love the flex in the QR shoulders. If the PFlex is comparable I may switch…
I own both suit. I like the QR better, definitly more flexible thru the shoulder. But to be honest, it all boils down to fit. You have to try it own. You won’t get the right answer from anyone… Trust me, I have owned way too many wetsuits:-)
I find the quick release zipper on the new QR’s wetsuits really helpfull in quick transitions. Anyway I takes time for you to get the hand of it.
The shoulders’ flexibility on the QR’s is by far the best I’ve tried so far (I’ve “ride” a Orca Predator 2, a Ironman and a Xterra Vector).
I’ve never tried the PFlex although I’ve heard it’s also great in terms of flexibility but not as awesome as the QR’s. But you can definitely get your zipper up and down without any help on the Orca one.
I’ve owned both and prefer the QR Superfull. It’s definitely more flexible in the shoulders, which far outweighs any short-term drawbacks you are experiencing while learning how to get used to the zipper situation.
