Anyone have a close up shot of your seat and seat clamp? I just acquired an '06 Caliente frame. I got the sea ton there, but not sure if it’s on right. Dont wanna be going down teh road and ahve the whole thing come undone on me. This is the most odd seat clamp I have ever dealt with.
This is a 2005 Lucero seat post,is it the same as 06?

same as the post on my wife’s 2006 seduza and my 2005 litespeed blade.
they aren’t the most user-friendly things in the world, are they? ; )
while we’re on the topic, anyone know if there’s a zero offset post out there that fits these bikes?
Yeah, thats the one. Thanks for the pic! It must be my saddle giving me grief. I dont have that kind of room between my rails and seat.
Yes it is difficult to step up.
I’m pretty sure the only other option is the shuttle, which offers a lot more set forward/ set back.
That’s what I have on my Seduza. They are a bear to set up. On more than one occasion the bolt on the front end has vibrated loose, I carry a wrench with me now. Tough to get level.

Do you have one of these Shuttles? I see it on Trisports and would like to get a little steeper on my Caliente, would love to know your thoughts.
Is it a bracket? It’s not the entire post right?
sorry for the hijack
I do not have one. I just picked up my frame today. I may look into one, depending the outcome of my fit next week.
the shuttle is not a whole post, just a new ‘top’
of the post. when i figure out how to post pix
i’ll reply here again('prolly tomorrow when i get
to work, where the bike is.)
edit:
here it is. it puts the seat clamps about an inch or more forward from
where they normally are, and yes the tilting method is still ‘fiddly’ and
sub-optimal. otherwise, it does give you a good position if you need it.

Just put on the shuttle today and it’s great for a short torso’d fella like myself. You can get a real aggressive position with it.
Regarding the front bolt that sometimes comes loose, i was having the same problem and took the seatpost off to inspect and the rubber ring that keeps the bolt from coming loose had popped up. I used a 1mm allen wrench to push it back down there and have had no problems since.
I’ve been swapping seats on and off my QR '07 Seduza, and finally realized the trick to a quick on-off of the saddle: loosen the back bolt until you can rotate the clamp part that rests on top of the rail. then, just slide the whole saddle forward. At the end, it just drops down and slips off easily.
To re-mount a saddle, just do it in reverse. And to adjust tilt, i use an 8mm open wrench to turn the little bolt. It takes about a minute and a half total. Not sure if that helps you, but the clamp is as easy as any other i’ve tried now that i’ve got that little technique down.
Tell me more about that rubber washer as mine is floating on top of the bolt. That must be why my seat vibrates loose. Where is that rubber washer supposed to be?
That rubber washer needs to be seated inside the top of the seatpost (basically around the bottom of the bolt)…you’ll see that your bolt is able to vibrate now because it’s not down there.
You can accomplish this with the seat on if you have a small tool that you can use to push it back down into the top of the seatpost, I use a 1.5mm allen wrench to do it. It sits tight down there around the bottom of the bolt. I found it easiest to understand by taking it all apart (warning, take seatpost off before taking apart seat and bolts as the front bolt isn’t connected and will fall inside your frame if you unscrew the horizontal rail holder thing, yup, did that.) The bottom of the front bolt has a groove around it where that washer is supposed to sit.
Wedge it down there and loose bolts be gone! Just something to keep an eye on because there’s nothing worse than being halfway out and having your saddle slide all the way back on its rails!
Hope this helps, I’m no expert on writing repair guides!
A little off topic.
Will the carbon seatpost from a Seduza fit on a kilo?
Two quick questions:
-
Did you have to adjust your seatpost height when you installed the shuttle?
-
How much does the shuttle weigh?
I’d like to get my saddle a couple of cm’s farther forward if I can. This seems like the way to go.
mm
The seduza i have has the same seatpost you see pictured in the previous photos, so i’m not sure about the kilo. That also has the tapered, airfoil shaped seat-tube, but in aluminum, right? I’d confirm with QR for sure
if i recall, there isn’t any appreciable difference in height
other than that created by the angle required by my seat
(you can see in the close-up photo. 1-2mm?)
as for weight, it might be a few grams heavier, but it’s not
like you’re adding 1/4 pound or anything like that.

I dropped my seatpost a couple of mm’s because of it, but it’s not a huge difference though I did find it raised my saddle just a tad. And for the weight, it’s a sturdy piece of metal, so it’s noticeable when holding it in your hand but it can’t be more than a few grams.
I checked and the little rubber gasket on the front is gone. I have mine tightened down and it has not jiggled loose in a long time. I do want to make an adjustment on the saddle, but am worried, without that gasket, that it might shake loose, again…
Other solutions for keeping a Seduza seat down tight…
