So I have the Wahoo dongle and would like to update the firmware on my Quarq. For some reason my dongle will connect to my 1st generation iPod touch, but not my iPhone 4. Has anyone had success with dongle and their iPhone 4 (not 4s etc). I am hoping it is something stupid like dust…Would like to use the most recent version of Qalvin since the ipod will only update to iOS 3.1…
Not to derail your thread…
Are you due for a phone upgrade? Iphone4’s are selling for $75-$100 on eBay. Upgrade your phone, then sell your old one to offset some of the cost. This is one reason I’m iphone fan. They have excellent resale value. If you don’t wait too long, usually can sell a 2 year old iphone for more than ya paid for it. I5’s still selling for $200+ ATT usually authorizes upgrades at 18months
I cant use the dongle with the iphone 5. But thanks for the advice.

Yup. I can confirm that the Wahoo dongle and Qalvin work just fine on my iPhone 4.
If the Wahoo Key is black rather than white, it should work just fine. There was an early gen of the key that can not handle the data transmission required. These were the white ones. The black Wahoo Key will also work with the newer Iphones with the Apple 30pin to lightning adapter. Otherwise, an ANT+ USB 2 stick with Mac or PC will do the trick as well.

Rob, does the older version of Qalvin (ie the one that will work with iOS 3) still allow me to update to the latest Quarq firmware…?
Thats a good question. There should not be any issues as the firmware is found and downloaded from Quarq servers but this has really not been tested as far as I know.
