A: aero enough that despite being equipped with these highly-adjustable-but-somewhat-ungainly-from-an-aero-perspective handlebars and stem:
it is still the most aero bicycle to ever grace our household.
(BTW, that is THE MAN himself, John Cobb, doing the wrenching…thanks again, John, for your support! Also, mucho thanks to the dedicated folks at the Oran W. Nicks Low Speed Wind Tunnel at Texas A&M University for their willingness to work extra hours on Friday afternoon/evening to accomodate us after being up until 3 a.m. the previous night conducting mission-critical tests for NASA, and of course to Gerard Vroomen and Phil White for designing/supplying such a fast bicycle in the first place!)
Do you think there is any noticeable difference in aerodynamics between the 2007 P3C and the P3 SL, which I believe was 2005? Half of me wants to ‘upgrade’ but the logical half can’t quite justify it.

So…that looks like a Blackwell 100 you’ve got on there. How did it test vs. your 808 (numbers, please)
P.S. Put a bento box behind that stem and it’ll be even faster!
I guess that’s pretty open-ended. Say, in line with upgrading some other piece of equipment that might buy you 20 or 30 seconds in a 40k or a few minutes in a IM.
On that note, does anyone know the weight difference between these two frames? Cervelo doesn’t seem to publish frame weights, not that I can find anyway.
Unfortunatly, what i really need is for P-X and Blackwell to get together and make a deal concerning the distribution of 650c wheels in order to pay for the mold costs on a ~85mm deep 650c mold.
YIKES! In listing the people that I wished to thank, I overlooked one of the most important ones of all: Mark Seale, who was kind enough to come down and spend the afternoon taking pictures (including the one that I posted)! Unfortunately, I didn’t think to get any pictures of Mark where his face wasn’t obscured by his camera, so y’all will just have to make do with this one of his cat:
Yes…I do. But you can partially blame it on the fact that the Blackwell wheel uses that funky “marble” carbon effect
How much $$ is it worth to you to know?
Hmm…I don’t blame you for not wanting to reveal it since you paid for the tunnel time (I’m assuming), but if it was as fast or faster than an 808 (or even just faster in different conditions) I’d think Mr. Cobb would be giving out that info for free. Since he isn’t…
BTW, I’m assuming you tested at multiple yaws, right? So…when you say it’s the fastest bike to grace your household, are you saying that the P3C Track “sails” (with you on it) as well as or better than the Hooker with the 650c front?

You know the old saying about what happens you assume something, don’t you?

Now what do you think?
(We tested using an indoor-velodrome-specific protocol that I devised.)

Since I wasn’t the one on the P3C, I was actually referring to the bike-only results.
