Q Roo '02 Compact Geometry Help

Hello,

I recently got a great deal on a '02 Q Roo Private Reserve Compact. I am having the darnedest time finding someone to give me a definitive answer as to whether or not it fits me. I know that an online forum is not the best place to go determine the size of a tri bike, but I went to my LBS and all they said was that it looked like there was too much seatpost showing–which seems like that should be the case with a sloping top tube.

It is a size M 55/57 virtual seat tube 56cm with 650cc. I am 5’10.5" with about a 31.5" inseam. If it helps here is a link to the geometry, etc.

I know that as high as the seatpost currently goes (to minimum insert) it feels small, but it is only like 300mm, and I know they make like 420mm now. And the top tube length actually felt pretty good, I just couldn’t safely ride with my saddle as I high as I wanted to.

So the question I have for everyone is: buy a longer seatpost, or sell the bike?

Thanks.

sell it as a classic…QR bikes are like Edsel cars, may have some collectable value since it has no training/racing value.

That may be, but I still need help with my original question. I was not asking for comments on the quality of the bike. .

Its hard to look at 4 numbers and tell someone if a bike fits. that is a low top tube so just because a 300mm post is too short it doesn’t mean the bike doesn’t fit.

It would be typical for a bike with a 54cm top tube and 16cm head tube on 650s to fit someone of your size

Runless–

Thank you. I think I will try the longer seatpost first. Easier than selling it–an I do like it. Thanks again.
