Who was the frame maker for the first years of QR ? Is their history on line ? Were the first bikes 80 deg ?
Thanks thom
I know Tom Teasdale made some of the Superforms. Check http://www.tetcycles.com/
thank you
.
Maybe our host will pipe up with the real story. I had one (vintage 1990) with a wild paint job - fades, speckles and everything. I think the tubing was Tange Prestige. It was pretty nice. The first QR in town. It looked a little funny set up for my 6’ 2" body with 650 wheels but worked well in triathlons. I was even dumb enough to take it for a one week tour in the mountains in southern Colorado. Great on the descents at least. I hit at least 80 km/hr every day but the last one (I think the high that day was only 78). I had it repainted in 1994 and sold it in 1995 to but my first C40 when I decided my tri career was over.
Wish I had one of those. I’ve been beat out in a couple eBay auctions, and a couple others just came at bad times (no $$). But I think those ones with the wild paint jobs were the Teasdale Superforms.
how much time do you lose to a newer areo frame ?
