Q Only for those that have converted a P2SL to track use

Are these needed?

Sergio

If you have a hub with track spacing @ 120mm then you will need to adapt it to 130mm. You need to make sure that the axle is long enough to accommodate an extra cm of spacing, also there are cheaper options than the Phil Wood you linked to. This information is assuming you have a threaded axle track hub.

I am going to use a Blackwell disk.

Thanks for your comment.

I don’t know a whole lot about Blackwell, but I seem to recall that their disc is an older model Zipp disc. If that is true, does it also use the Zipp hub?

This is important for two reasons:

  1. You will obviously need a track hub as opposed to the standard road hub.
  2. Zipp hubs can be converted fairly easily between track/road as well as Campy/Shimano

If Blackwell uses a Zipp hub then you can swap out the body in favour of their track option and then space it out to 130mm to fit the frame using whatever Zipp recommends.

The disc is a Blackwell track disc. The hub does looks like a Zipp hub but it is not the one that can be converted to road use, of this I am perfectly sure. The State coach liked this set up in the Blackwell better than the one on the Zipp discs. Apparently it is even more solid than the Zipp setup.

Someone mentioned the use of washers and I was wondering if the parts on the link were a better choice than using a series of flat washers.
