Thinking about new race rubber for my 808 clinchers. Last year went with the zipp dimpled clinchers. Seemed like the best combo of rr and width for the rim. They have maybe 300 miles on them, the dimples are pretty much gone in the center. So keep one or both of them?
Buy the Bonty wing ones?
Anything else to consider?

If you like the zipp tires and have only 300 miles on them…just keep riding them until they wear out. They’re basically the same as the CXs anyway.
Depending on the average speed you expect and the “weight” of the Bonty AW19 tire you happen to acquire, that could be a good choice too. In fact, I tested the AW19 (a “heavy” one actually…higher Crr) on an 808 clincher last year vs. a VF Record. It didn’t make the wheel slower
what happened to the 404’s and the disk? Don’t you also have a new 404 clincher with at PT hub?
If none of those have dimples seems like it is time to buy some new stuff, why do you hate the economy anyhow? Haven’t you heard that our new supreme ruler wants us to stimulate the economy?

The higher the speed, the more important the shape?
With a rider + bike mass of almost 80kg and a speed of 28mph: do you prefer the Bonty 19mm ‘200gram’ with aero lips clincher above the zipp 21mm clincher on a zipp rim? I have a brand new bonty here and a timetrial tomorrow. The zipp 404 front wheel is my only fast wheel. Should I try to get 30km on the bonty and give that one a try tomorrow?
To me, aero dynamic and Crr come second to flat resistance.
In the front, the Zipp tire is ok (you typically get less flats in the front) for the back, I would consider either Continental GP400 (Black Chilly)
Or Michelin Pro Race 3.

Yep…give it a shot. Even if it’s one of the “heavy” tires (i.e. actually ~200g, vs. the “light” tires at ~180g) at those speeds and wheel loadings, I’d expect that to be a fast combo on the 404.

Why not get all 3? The Bonty AW19 is a fairly “robust” tire
To be honest though, I don’t quite get the “flat resistance uber alles” mind set…
