Unfortunately I need to wear socks while on the bike - my current shoes give me to much grief without them. Any suggestions as to how to put socks on quickly after the swim. Feet are kinda wet - I’ve just been rolling them on but they sometimes get stuck.
First tip - always wear your socks before the race. By that, I don’t just mean in some training weeks before the race. But you should put your socks on your feet the day of the race to stretch them out and get them shaped to your foot.

I always bring some baby powder and sprinke it in and around the opening of the sock before hand. Works like a charm, feet slide right in.
Rolling on wet or dry shouldn’t make any difference because you’re not pulling fabric past skin, you’re rolling it on… how or why do they get stuck?
I would agree with the wearing of the socks before the race and then putting baby powder in them before you head out on the swim. I have done this for the Half Iron’s and Ironmans that I have done and it has worked very well.
For Olympic and shorter distances, I just do not wear socks.
socks? for a race?
Find different socks? I’ve noticed that my coolmax stuff really sticks when my feet are wet, but my Wright socks just glide right on… In general, I don’t really like how the double-layer Wright’s feel, but they might be just the ticket for this problem.

i’m with youj on the MUST wear socks. that’s just how it is for me.
for anything longer than a sprint, i have a little baggie with sportslick mashed in it. this is half-way in a sock. i do have a little towel to use, but don’t always use it. but i do evert the baggie over my hand and do a really quick grease job around each toe. on each foot. this probably takes 3-4 seconds, total. then i pull the sock on all the way. that’s to avoid bunching. with the sportslick the glide’s pretty good, but i have to admit that they go on about as well with no grease. i use ironman/wigwam/very thin socks.
i don’t have problems with blisters. but i have. this is insurance, for the run. and i have back-up insurance of the baggie along for the run, on 1/2 and full IMs. haven’t used that for a long, long time, but i just like the insurance/more chances.
if the sock is troublesome in the pulling stage, maybe try to get your thumbs farther down inside the sock as you’re pulling it up. just keep fiddling with the process until you get to where it works for you.

I have to wear socks as well. Skin issues. The trick I use is to pull the socks inside out and use body glide on them. Then turn them right side out and they are ready to go. Never had an issues with getting them on quick.
I don’t usually wear them. When I do I roll each sock back on itself so that I can unroll it on my foot like a er… well, you know… condom.
