Pumpkinman bib numbers are up!

I am # 23 . That is a very good number. Second swim wave (all you fishies in the first wave, WATCH OUT!)

Who else?

please explain why the bib numbers are exciting? I never really care but all these threads about the numbers being up makes me feel like I should.

I suppose it is not the number itself that is exciting, rather that it is symbolic that race day is getting closer. Another reminder.

For instance, they don’t post a week ahead of time what your bib # for a local 5k is. And if they did, I wouldn’t care. But this… this is a long race that I’ve put a fair amount of physical and emotional energy into.

Post some race photos with your report if you don’t mind. I am interested in this race for next season…

The excitement of bib numbers is that you can identify your competition, do an extensive athlinks background search on them, find their weaknesses and then obsess until race day on how to exploit them. At least that’s what I do.

I don’t need to know bib numbers to realize that I’m gonna have a big freakin’ target on my back as far as Tigerchik is concerned.

yup.

good try. And no.

I wonder if I can figure out how to mount a helmet mirror on the brim of my cap.

Anyway, should be a good motivator for me to bear in mind that from the moment I pass you on the bike course, I will be pursued by my own personal Nemesis.
