Pulse-power?

I had never heard of the term pulse-power until I recently bought a computrainer.

Average Pulse Power = (/weight)*1000
Power: in watts
HR: in BPM
weight: in pounds

I’m not a physiologist, but this statistic seems like it would be the best measurement to use to see how well your fitness is progressing over a long period of training. Obviously, the goal in to produce more power while sustaining a lower HR. and thats what this formula tells you.

I was interested to know if anyone knows what values are relatively good when using this equation? I’ve just been analyzing my improvement, but I have nothing to compare that to. I’ve seen my value jump from 10.1 to 12.1 over the past few weeks

Example:
(/150lbs)*1000 = 11.28

What would you think about someone that is able to hold a higher HR while putting out more power.

That person is faster than before but the formula wouldn’t suggest so.

My thoughts
