Public pool in Red Bank or Colt's Neck NJ area?

I will be going there in a couple weeks for a wedding and would like to squeeze in a swim or two if I can find the time if I can locate a pool.

Hey there…welcome to Central Jersey…God’s country.

The obvious answer is the Red Bank YMCA, on Maple Avenue. 25 yards, 6 lanes. Call for times of open swimming. a masters group swims mwf 5:30 a.m.

The Atlantic Club, also on Maple Avenue/hwy 35, Red Bank, has three lanes, 25 meters… There really is a lack of pools in this area.

let me know if you want to get a run, ride or swim in…I have a road bike if you fit.

mike.

Thanks, that helps a ton!

Bring your wetsuit, and swim in the Ocean. should still be in the mid 60’s.

Are there good places to swim, by good I mean safe? I could do that if I found a good place to swim. Is the water fairly calm along the shore there? Bringing the wetsuit is kind of a pain but I know one hotel we are staying at is right on the water.

Well, what hotel? On the Navesink River? (Molly Pitcher or Oyster Point?) You may not want to swim there.

Ocean Place Hotel, on the ocean in Long Branch? Depending on size of swell, very nice public beach right in front of the hotel, no problem swimming there.

On Sunday Octoeber 16, the local tri club is attempting to do an olympic distance “workout” tri in Rumson, right next to red bank. Check out www.sandyhookers.org/shtc.html and click on the link to the message board.

again, let me know if you need anything, I have an extra road bike, (cannondale r4000, roughly a 57) shoes, helmet, etc.

This area ain’t Colorado, but it ain’t bad.

Mike.

the first few days we will be at the Ocean Place, then some other after that, not sure which one. I will not be there until the 20th otherwise that sounds fun. Cool offer thanks, maybe I will have time for a ride to see some of the country.

Another possibility if you are near Colts Neck is the Freehold YMCA. 6 Lanes 25 yrds. Call for open times. Other than that, there are not that many Pools around the area to swim in.

Slower than U

my sister lives on the navesink (navestink) river, you don’t want to swim in that!
