PT Disk Cover: well, at least it's different

This is to go with my incoming P2K; hopefully, the colors will match close enough for government work. She Who Must Be Obeyed gave me hell for spray painting the blue parts in the basement, because it really stank up the place (had to go out for dinner, bummer). So I’m not allowed to paint the other side (which I haven’t put on yet) indoors. Unfortunately, the paint is supposed to be used above 70 degrees, so it looks like I won’t be able to get the same pattern on the other side until, oh, maybe June. Or so it seems here in New Jersey.

Thanks, I put the photo inline. I use Netscape at home, and the advanced editor functions are not available in Netscape, it seems.

thats cool Ken. Do you use a special type of spray paint or whatever Home depot carries? My wife is an artist and I’m thinking of having her create one of those optical illusion patterns. Thats if my pTap wheel ever arrives.

something like this: http://www.bonanzas.com/optical_illusion_3078_44.html

Seeing as I used MonoKote, I used their Lustrekote spray paint sapphire blue (I also bought some sapphire blue MonoKote in case I didn’t like the white).

Doing that spiral would seem to be a nightmare, as far as masking is concerned. You might want to use a second color Monokote and apply that.

Good luck.

Ken,

It looks awesome! Killer!

You’ll just have a “good” side and a “bad” side until, say, June in New Jersey.

the wheel looks nice. can I ask, what kind of wheel cover is that? is it something you had custom made yourself?

Homemade. See http://forum.slowtwitch.com/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=72500;page=1;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25;

for details.

There was quite a discussion regarding making your own disk wheel a while back.

I have it bookmarked:

Very cool.
