PT 2.4- Getting Better?

There has been alot written about issues with the 1st launch of the wireless PT. Have they gotten any better?

no problems with mine at all- works great- even in rain- and it’s a very light weight system! i also use cyclingpeaks to view my workouts- as poweragent is just so-so software.

Cycleops has fixed the problem with the frequent drop outs.

I got my zipp 404 wheelset with the powertap sl 2.4 two weeks ago. I don’t have real drop outs. But when I look very close to the data file I see that sometimes one record is not recorded. In a 2.5 hour ride I see that ten records (10x1s) is not recorded during the whole ride. That’s about 0.11% of the time and doesn’t influence my workout of post workout analysis.

That’s a drop out rate that i can live with. thanks for the replies

For my it is just a matter of where you mount the head unit. out on the aero bars it dropped often. mounted on the stem it is great. If I get 1 drop an hour it is pretty rare.

I have had mine for 5 months and no issues at all. This is the single best piece of bike equipment I own in terms of return on my investment. The bonus of moving it back and forth from my tri bike to road bike is extremely useful for making sure all my rides are recorded and the data is as usefull as possible. I build it around a Jet 60 wheel so I can use it for racing as well.

Post Cycleops repair, this is the rate I am seeing as well. Previously I was dropping 20-30 times an hour now it is maybe once or twice for a second or so.
