PSA: power2max Classic end of series sale - from $729

Hi folks,

I hope it is not seen as inappropriate to post this. Just wanted to share the information that we are having an end of series sale on power2max Classic: going forward we need to focus on one product line to meet demand, so we are ending power2max Classic.

For the time it’s still there we have a great offer for you: all power2max Classic are reduced by $150. The prices of the most popular models are:

  • power meter without cranks: $729
  • With FSA Gossamer: $749
  • With Rotor 3D: $949
  • With Rotor 3D+: $1099

Don’t wait too long if you’re interested - once a model is sold out it doesn’t come back in stock.

Cheers
Nicolas

Interested in your power meters. Currently running dura ace fc 9000 Which meter would I go with?

HI kitch,

you’d need to swap out the cranks- the Rotor 3D fit in your bottom bracket and are a popular choice.

Is it correct that none of your power meters will fit ultegra FC-6800?

In that case, for the Canyon speedmax CF, can I go with Rotor 3D or do I need Rotor 3D F?

Thanks in advance.

So could still run the dura ace chainrings would just have to change out crank arms? Rotors are compatible with 9000 bottom bracket?

For minimum hassle on the Speedmax CF, you need the Rotor 3D: The Rotor 3D model replaces the FC6800 directly - same spindle, so just pull out the old crank, put the new one in.

I believe only the Model S is compatible with DA9000 rings (or any Shimano 4-arm rings). The Classic needs regular, 5-arm rings: Praxis are great.

Are you sure? I havent seen any Model S with the 4 arm spider, nor are they on their website.

Thanks a lot for the quick response. Do you know if the 3D plus will also fit directly to the shimano BB?

How will this affect support for those of us that own a Power2Max Classic?

Yes, the spindle is exactly the same. Plug’n’play, in a way.

Are you sure? I havent seen any Model S with the 4 arm spider, nor are they on their website.

Don’t know about the website, I’ve seen them with my very own eyes. Teammate’s bike:

Awesome, really appreciate the help!

Are you sure? I havent seen any Model S with the 4 arm spider, nor are they on their website.

They were on the website. Each one had an option for 130 BCD, 110 BCD or 110 BCD with Shimano 4-bolt. Not sure why that option is no longer there.

I have similar questions as some of the other folks. My bike is setup with Ultegra 6800 and a PressFit 30 BB. Since there doesn’t appear to be any 4-bolt options in the selection boxes on the site, would my best approach be to do something like the Rotor 3D Plus and add rings to it? Would the rings available on your site work with the 6800 chain? I could keep the PF BB? Anything else I would need?

Sorry if any of these are stupid questions.

edit: If this would work, what would be the difference in going to the type S? Thanks.

Unfortunately theyou stopped making them for some reason and I don’t think there is a plan to bring it back. That was my plan to go to the power2max but had to go another route as I wanted the flexibility to run any chain ring combo I wanted

Ah yes I remember now, I seem to have seen a pic floating around on DC Rainmakers site. Weird that they’re gone, it seems a good way to expand your clientbase, especially with some of the new campy cranks also going to a four arm design (although that will still have two diff BCD for inner/outer rings so prob not compatible with the Shimano spider).

Hi folks,

sorry for the late reply, was on the road.

@Asbjorg: The Ultegra 6800 crank arms arent compatible because the spider is part of the crank arm. The Rotor 3D will fit straight in your bottom bracket. Nils Frommhold rides the Rotor 3D on his Speedmax CF.

@kitch: the 4-bolt model for Shimano is not available at this time. I am not sure if it will come back in stock. In your case I would recommend going with Praxis Works chain rings, they get stellar reviews from our customers.

@tessartype: thanks for providing advice

@Asbjorg: the 3D+ doesn’t fit in a Shimano BB, since the axle is thicker (30mm vis-a-vis 24mm)

@FishOutofWater: it doesn’t change anything with support. We will of course keep having spare parts and warranty stays unaffected.

@Bionicman: if you have a Ultegra crank on a PF30 frame, you have a PF4624 conversion BB. In this case you can install the Rotor 3D in that same BB or go to a PF30 bottom bracket with a Rotor 3D+. The Praxis Works rings works very well with 11-speed Shimano.

I hope I haven’t overlooked any questions,

Cheers

Did I miss if you said what length crankarms you have available?

@docrob: sorry if I missed the question - for which model?
