For your carbon fiber frames with a clamping style front derailleur, do you do anything to protect the clear coat? Do you put some thin foam padding or wrap electrical tape around the seat tube in the area where it will clamp?
Nah, I wouldn’t worry about it. Besides, anything you introduce between the clamp and the seat tube will change the tolerances between the two. Do you have custom paint that you’re trying to protect or something?
