I have finally had some time post IM-Moo to do some blatant promotion for Tom D. and Bikesport.
Signed up for IM-Moo 04’ a year ago and upgraded a poor excuse for a roadbike crudely converted into a tri-bike by heading down to Bikesport in the spring. I had a Cervelo Dual in mind, but , upon the recommendation of Mike, I went w/ the Guru Cron Alu.
I had a very comfortable season on the Guru with few problems. I live in Northern Michigan (Go Taint), so my trips to Bikesport were non-existant. Had one problem all season, my seat clamp came loose from the seatpost (metal plug in carbon fiber). Called Bikesport and Tom brought the replacement to Seahorse three days later.
A long story short, I had a great day at Wisconsin. Swam what I expected, biked conservatively the first half and a little more agressive the second half. Stuck with a good nutrition plan (until an excavating of my stomach at mile 19 on the run). Got on the run course feeling great. I didn’t start to melt down until the last 10k on the run, and relatively mildly compared to the other carnage I saw that day. Final results: 10:46 flat, 102 overall.
A lot of factors contributed to doing well, a well fit bike being one of them.
Tom, thank Mike M. for me. I’ll drop in a couple weeks when I’m down south.
