What a ride, but I must say the motorcycles gave him about 4 or 5 seconds at least on that one fuck up of theirs. They could not get out of his way, and gave him a great pull, right at the spot that everyone had to get out of the saddle and acclerate
I do not think your assessment of the time gain of that motorbike in that brief corner exist is realistic

A Cervelo bike won?! Wow… was it like one of those horse races… did the rider fall off and the bike make it down the course all by itself?
It’s just not the corner, it was going into it, coming out of it, and the added momentum that he gets to carry to the finish because of it… No big deal, he still would have won by a good margin, as they say, “Them is the breaks”///////

Phew! Now I can keep my P3C. Actually it fits so well and I am so used to it now I will probably keep it forever … umm … for a long time anyway.
My wife will be happy too. When I was pointing out the new (retro) centerpull brakes on the new Specialized she said - “Are you getting a new bike?”
It would be great to see SRM plots for the top ten. There were a lot of watts being generated out there, might be interesting to model what difference an old round tube bike would make in finish times with those watts applied.
Hope all riders pass their PED tests too.

Cervelo also wins the marketing battle. Watching on Versus, Cervelo ran commercials. Anyone remember if other bike companies have ever bought commercial time on TV? (Not counting the best bke of all, the automatic shifting bike which has infomercials late at night.)

I watched the latter half, and saw at least one ad put on by Specialized.
Trek advertised heavily when Lance was riding.
Just saw the Specialized/Boonen ad. Boonen/s voice isn’t so charismatic. The Cervelo ad makes me laugh since I know Phil and yep, he is such an engineer. Note to Phil and Gerard–let’s see some Fabian (Mr. Dreamy) ads!!!

Cervelo advertised last year too. Trek used to be a huge advertiser, and I’ve already seen a specialized commercial. But, you’re right, Cervelo is winning the ads race.

Well Specialized was featured during the broadcast itself, don’t know if that cost them money or not.
The speeds these guys can hold for 5 miles is astouding. I don’t know if I can even hit 34mph period
