Project Hooker 650c

So because I really like 650c’s for racing, I embarqued on this project of turning my Hooker bike into a dual 650c bike. Here’s the result:

Thank you very much to TrevorS for sponsoring this project!

You race?

Nice ride, btw. How does it handle?

and I thought you were talking about, well, a hooker…

either way, she’s a beauty!!

It handles a little bit better than the 700c, probably because of the lower BB.

Was it originally 700/24", or 700/650c?

It looks good, btw.

That actually looks pretty f*ckin bitchin. Love it and the no-logo look. I’m so used to seeing three or four HUNDRED of them on a bike that this is positively shocking to my eyes (in a good way).

It’s a Cat 1 frame, so originally it was dual 700c.

That’s a really nice bike with an interesting history - Hooker Headers. Whenever else has NASCAR met TT’ing. I’d love to get my hands on one of those. Definately a future collector’s item. Hang on to it my friend.

"originally it was dual 700c. "

Now I’m confused. The front fork looks like a 650 QR Carbonaero??

If it was 700 originally, how is the 650 rear so tight to the seat post & chainstay split?

It’s not that tight. The chainstay length is only 5mm longer than my QR tri-bike, that’s what gave me the idea to turn it into a dual 650c. The fork was changed from the original Hooker fork (for sale in the Classifieds!) to the 650c Carbonaero.

Paulo,

What fork did you use? Looks like an older QR fork. Is the rear brake below the BB or are you still working on that?

Good looking bike.

Hookem

BTW…Dave said your camp was going to be easy.

The rear brake is also taken care of, I built a little assembly that puts the brake further back.

"original Hooker fork (for sale in the Classifieds!) "

Hang on to that fork. Having all the original parts will increase the future collector’s value of the bike.

I used to restore/modify older British sports cars in another life. I made the mistake of replacing original parts which in the long term depreciated the values of the vehicles.

Let me know when you are ready to sell it.

Friday night and posting pics of his hooker bike. The man needs a woman.
.

I’m accepting applications!

Paulo
Sorry, I don’t know much about Hooker bikes. But that is one nice looking bike.

“The man needs a woman”

Why? He already has a hooker.

We all know what Alex Hutchison would be doing to that bike.
