So after years of hearing how the right is so vitriolic, mean spirited, evil, ignorant etc etc I had the chance to listen to a few hours of a couple different shows on some station I happened across or is new to the area. This is the first time I have really been able to listen to a left leaning talk show for probably 4-5 years…Really?! Both Shows where Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity in reverse. Name calling, round about chaotic connections of statements to make the Republicans appear either racist, ignorant or evil in the same manner that these guys do.
What I found most humorous was that made nearly the exact same arguments, but to the opposite, that these other guys do. The media is conservative leaning. The republicans are corrupting the voting systems. The republicans are mind numbed robots voting blanking for the party platform and on and on and on.
Honestly, not sure why, I expected better, maybe more educated a tad more factual although obviously left leaning. NOPE, if anything it was worse. No wonder this country is so FUBAR, I’d bet both of these people’s audiences actually believe most of what they are hearing.
If you want good leftist radio just listen to npr.
I do listen to NPR on occasion, it’s weird. Seems content is all over the place and most of the shows are…well…boring. On occasion they have a decent show on something political and I actually get something out of it that is not too bad, but that is rare. Maybe I’m just catching it at the wrong times.
Was it the ring of fire hosted by RFK jr. Or Ed Schultz ? The vile crap that comes out of their mouth isn’t even entertaining. Almost like they listen to rush for show prep and through back arguments at him in an exponentially vile way.

Real progressive radio like you are talking, truly is like Hannity goes left, just obnoxious, rude, and often feels detached from the often gray world we actually live in. OTOH, you sometimes sound that way too, when you start waxing on about your small govt utopia.

Same content worse presentation. Until the last 4-5 years Rush actually had some level of entertainment in his parities and other stuff as well as generally more entertaining presentation.

But I’ll be the first to admit that the grey world we live in is not my small government ideal…and I can only remember a couple times where I was rude…obnoxious maybe, rude, I try not to be.

Rush a few years ago and Beck before he completely lost his marbles were good at what they did. The crap they put on Air America (like Franken) was like listening to someone reading your car insurance policy to you. So a lot of it just came down to ability
But maybe, right wing ideas sound better when shouted at the top of your lungs than left wing ideas. It may just be easier to get fired up about them. Kind of like how right wing comedy pretty much sucks when compared to left wing comedy. Making fun of poor and unfortunate people just isn’t as much fun.

Isn’t that kind of view pretty much the problem? I am so tired of Democrats said this or republicans said that, doesn’t really matter because neither seem to present the views of people they are supposed to represent!
what i can’t figure out is why the left media struggles so much?
take political preference out of the debate. fox vs cnn. cnn’s numbers are atrocious. rush, hannity vs maddow, schultz. both of the leftie guys have horrible numbers. the ***weather channel ***has better morning numbers than cnn and msnbc in the morning. freaking al roker.
