Proflile Alumin X Thoughts? 31.8 Bar

Saw a bit of info on the new Profile Alumin X. ( can be seen on Inside Out Sports or TriSports). It appeals to me more than the Hed or Oval or Hed. I can’t use the bars with the integrated stem. Anyone have any insights on this bar? It has a 31.8 in the clamping area. Why did they find it necessary to go with that? Means I would have to get a new 1" stem with 31.8 clamp. I don’t think that even exists so it would mean a custom stem if I knew where to get one made at a reasonable cost. Possibly a 1’1/8 does but really don’t like the clunky look of a shim on a 1" steerer.

Thoughts?

Thanks

The AluminX looks to eb really adjustable but I have a feeling all those clamps and bolts will take away a lot of the aerodynamic benefits. Thus defeating the purpose of an integrated bar. That said, they’re pretty cheap - not much more than the cost of a set of Carbonstrykes and a regular base bar. I’d say they are a good value. Regarding the stem, you can get a 1-1/8" 31.8 stem for $20. You will not be able to see the shim.

But the new Visiontech stuff seems the most interesting to me, if it ever comes to market.
