Been considering getting a new bike or just improving my current road bike for IMF. After much debate… I’m leaning toward fixing this one up. So, what does everyone think about the Fast Forward seat post by Profile? Anyone know where to get it at a discount?
Any other suggestions to save time on a stock road bike? Already have the aerobars and new speedplay x2’s. I assume wheels would be next… are there decent wheels for a triathlete on a budget?
nooooooo! A fast forward will not improve your bike. If you want to save time on a stock road bike, get wheels - or rent them at the race. Spinergy Tilium SS are the best deal going right now at less than $600/pr, you can rent some Zipps for $150 through Inside Out Sports.
hmmm, I loved my fast foward on my Cervelo Prodigy road bike. It weighs as much as a boat anchor though, the seatpost that is:( Doesn’t compare to my new Cannondale tri bike though. It just depends on how you like to ride. It takes some time to get used to running your seat angle steep so change now to see if you like it. Chucksbikes.com had some of the fastfowards under a different name for like $15 or so. check it out, not sure if they are still there.
