Profile aero brake levers on vision tech base bar

I am going to purchase the vision tech base bar. I want to put profile aero brake levers on the vision tech bars as I don’t like the vision tech brakes- they have a wierd sharp curve on the end which seems irritating- plus they are more expensive. Are the profile brake levers compatible with the vision tech base bar?

Thanks

Yes, I installed a set yesterday with no problems at all.

thanks man, that was quick.

Do you like the bars- I am going to put on the Vision tech clip on?

That is the exact set up I use and I am very happy with it. The base bar is stiff, the extensions on the base bar are long enough that with the profile brake levers grip and position for descending are solid, there is enough room between the clip ons and the base bar for hand position when climbing out of the aero position, and the aero position is very comfortable.

Ive had the Vtech levers, the Profiles and the carbon blackwheel levers all on my vtech base bar-

Vtech looked cool, but i wasnt 100% please with how they worked and didnt feel great- I ride alot in NYC and geting to and from central park I need to feel comfortable with my brakes-

the profile Qs2 worked very well, likea dream fit & installed easy etc-

the blackwells, in the vtech didnt fit out of the box, i needed to use a smaller wedgebolt form old diacompes, but once i did that, they too worked excellent (they have a return spring too) and they look raelly cool in carbon- but yo cant go wrong with the profiles-

You will be the fastest guy with an AARP card going with this slick set-up.

I could not resist.

I actually installed them for a buddy of mine so I didn’t ride them. I was impressed with the FSA base bar though, it is very light, aero and has a lot of comfortable hand positions, even for climbing. I installed Profile Carbon stryke clip-ons with a flip-up armrest kit as well, overall it is a real nice setup and almost makes me want to get rid of my Oval A900 front end!

I had the VT base bar on my old ride and will have it on my new one. I went with the aero brakes on the new ride, but had some reservations about doing so. I have tried them before and assume that they would be ok for a short courser, however I am not so sure that they would be comfortable on very long rides. It is kind of like grabbing a dull jackknife blade.

Where did you find the wedgebolt?

I use a Vision base bar with Profile T2 clip-ons (Dura-Ace shifters)
and Profile Q2 brake levers and everything works perfectly. I wanted to
place the clip-ons under the base bar and use the riser kit but that
didn’t work out but I found the flat position on top of the base bar
actually works better. The Q2 levers offer better braking and are more
comfortable on the hands (IMO).

I did the same thing…except I cut off the curved ends on the Vision bar…and stuck in the levers…looks more aero?

I took them off a pair of cheap dia compe brake levers
.

Honestly go with the Tektro Carbon brake levers, they are on ebay all the time and very inexpensive. If you do not want carbon then just get the aluminum Tektro brake levers. Honestly they are the sames as the Blackwell and a couple of others and just as good.

Tektro Carbon is what I have…they work well with ZG calipers …scored on eBay…
