what is it?

It is a protective cover system for bikes used on indoor trainers to prevent corrosion caused by sweat.

Doesn’t a $6.99 sweat guard at Performance or Nashbar do effectively the same thing?

Wow…good thing. With that name I thought it was some kind of bike condom. Good luck with your product!

Or a fan.

Too bad these are just coming out…klehner could have used one of these for sure.

It’s posts like this that keep me coming back…

Can you ride outdoors with these?

I thought it was a bike lock.

Got a link to the review at least, or do we have to hunt it down?

I don’t know, I won’t go to spam links.

Heh. I thought it was one of those systems like those that track your car after it gets stolen.

Seriously Ken, do you run searches for references to you just so you can reply to them?

The other sweat guards provide no coverage for the headset, computer, stem, frame, fork, brakes, etc. - just a little coverage for the top tube.

They are basically very small sections of terry cloth (bath towel) with limited durability (vs. 3 year warranty) and no waterproofing.

Regardless of your sweat rate, no sweat will get on the bike with the Bicycle Protection System. The need to wipe down the bike after a hard trainer workout is eliminated.

For the past few years I’ve wrapped plastic wrap around my headset, top tube, and seat tube/post-- kept it pretty clean.

haha…i was hoping you’d see that.

isbr: not a product I personally need, but good luck!

If it is made of carbon fibre it will be a HUGE seller!!!

yeah, but at 128.00US, i can buy a LOT of towels…enough to make it waterproof.

i can also buy new bearings for the headset, and then some floor cleaner, and still have enough to head out for a nice dinner.

you’ve priced yourself way too freaking high.

good idea…but not comparable price wise to anything else on the market.

So do I get 10% for helping you market your product. Shees here is the link for anyone intereseted.

Sorry not getting paid enough to launch IE and put in a proper link. (Hey why is it the editor does not work in Firefox?)

I highly doubt that sweat is the cause of the flaking paint on the top tube of Ken’s bike. My bike seems to be suffering exactly what Ken’s bike is going thru now. While riding (on the trainer) yesterday, i was checking out my position, and no way in hell can sweat (which predominantly drips from your head area) get all the way back there. If u get a chance to check your position out with a mirror or photo of your self, u will notice that your chin is almost directly over your stem. U have to have a fan that blowing 50 mph winds to blow that sweat as it leaves your chin to fall all the way back there to the cutout hole for the rear brake (the hole on the top tube just below the seat). There is definitely something wrong with the way cervelo painted the frames in that area. My guess would be poor paint adhesion due to oils or something during the prep stage.
