Prodigal Son Running Shoes

How many of you have bought a pair of running shoes, and you run in them for a few weeks, and they cause an immediate problem, (blister, knee pain, etc) so you toss them aside to just kind of wear around the house or gym, or mow a yard, but, over some time, for whatever reason, just for the hell of it, you put them on, just to change things up, you run a few 3-5 mile runs in them, and, although you really don’t like the shoe, those runs end up going 8-10 miles. Eventually, the shoe ends up getting “into your rotation lineup,” and becomes a major player. IN fact, maybe it ends up being your shoe of choice. I mean, like YOUR PRIMARY RUNNING SHOE, although you rejected it and mowed yards with it.

When I first started running I had no idea what shoe to buy, and I bought many clunkers (once got talked into Nike motion control shoes, nearly wrecked both knees).

Fortunately, I found Saucony meets my needs for trainers, light weight trainers, and racers.

Like all running companies, Saucony insists on changing shoe design, and discontinuing shoes altogether, but in over 20 years of running, I’ve never had to venture to another shoe company.

If you’ve found a great pair of shoes, I suggest buy as many as you can, because next year they’ll change design, and they won’t be the same!!
