I will be there!

I watched the TT yesterday on Versus. I felt like Merrill (Joaquin Pheonix) in the 2002 movie Sign. I was yelling “Move, children. Vamanos” to the TV as Tejay was weaving through the crowd.

same here espically the luche libre dude in the speedo

I have to say the scenery so far has been pretty spectacular. I wish I could be there in person to see it. I have watched the Tour of California live every year and I have to admit I think Colorado beats ToC for shear beauty and drama with those big mountains. I hope it continues but why don’t they just call it Tour of Colorado? I think I understand now why so many California residents move to Colorado…

I was in the Finishing ‘Chute’ of Yesterday’s TT up in Vail. We parked at the top of Vail Pass and rode down to the course. There were about 2-3 deep allong the barricade. I could see down course a bit and it looked like about 6 deep leading into the ‘Chute’.

Watching it from the recording later on Verses, confirmed that the finishing area was manic !

The fun part was that we were right in line with one of the cameras, and quite often on rider close-ups you could see my smiling mug, and my wife’s on the TV. It was also very cool to have the riders riding within an arm’s length of us. We had to be careful when taking pictures not to wack a rider ! My wife got some great shots of Levi, George, and Cadel - snot slinging close !

Riding back up to the top of the pass was kind of crazy - imagine 4 - 5 across with walkers, bike-walkers, slow riders, and riders thinking they were in the TT ! It was Manic.

All in all a great time, and recommended to those who live in Colorado to come out and watch.

Wife and I are planning on heading out next year to check it out.

Well worth the time. One of the nice things about being close to the finish is being able to listen to the announcer.

Getting pumped! The vibe in Breck is great. 3 hour ride early tomorrow followed by 3+ hours of drinking beer and watching the race.
