Pro Bike Fit Question/Recs

Background: I have a 2008 Cervelo P2C DA that I purchased and and raced on last year. This winter, with the really cold temps, I have been putting 3 rides in a week on the P2C on the trainer, some with high resistance. This is more volume than all of last season, because I would rotate between my road bike and P2C often. I recently have been experiencing ITBS, and suspect that my high volume on the bike trainer is the cause (I am also seeing a PT, rehabbing, resting and changed my sneakers, to cover all bases).

Question: Would a professional bike fit (FIST or otherwise) address possible issues with my fit in relation to ITBS, or slight leg length discrepancies? I know that pro bike fits are good for “dialing in” position in terms of aero and power, but I am unclear as to the benefit for injury prevention/correction. If a bike fit is recommended, what type (FIST or other, specifically)? Any recommendations in NJ?

TIA.

I got FIST fitted recently, and discovered that my feet tilt. My right knee tracks straight up and down when cycling, while my left knee looked like a figure 8. I never knew. A couple shims under the cleats, and I track straight. My training pace went from ~19 mph to ~ 21 mph, same effort. Fitting is da bomb.

Not sure where in NJ you are, but I’d recommend Cadence - either in NYC or Philly - for a fit. Those guys are really good.

First most FIST Fitters do not address the feet. FIST bike fit education is not about the foot. However it is nice to hear John did have his feet checked.
IT irritation is a tough one as it can be caused from running and just shows up on the bike.
How tall are you? What length cranks? Also having your feet check may be beneficial. So you would need to see if they also had Foot/Pedal interface training. In general a FIST Fit is a good fit but it is not a complete fit.
I am curious where John was fit. Sounds like he got a good one. Yes the guys at Cadence are pretty good but also Elite is a good place to go.
