Yes they can. I believe in races with under $5000 in money available age groupers are able to claim prize money unless the race director has designated “pro” only money.
Is that 5k in total purse or can a non-elite win up to 5K and still be considered an amateur?
$5K total purse. I guess if they only paid the 1st finisher, one person could win $5K.
