This post is especially for L.A. area Cyclist and Triathletes. This afternoon I got a call from a friend of mine that lives in the very nice area of Lake Sherwood in Thousand Oaks he informed me that he received a petition in the mail from a resident asking for a privitization of the very scenic Lake Sherwood Drive.
This area is fantastic for cycling of all kinds and just a very scenic drive through the country area just outside of L.A. This is one of the greatest training ground’s for cycling.
Many domestic pro’s in the U.S. train here as well as many of the best pro’s from europe come here for training just before the Tour Of California…Rabobank and T-Mobile were here in the area for a week. The petition says that the lake happens to be a private lake and the road surrounding the lake (Lake Sherwood Dr )should also be private He wantsto put in a gated area with security provided by the Country Club so the worth of the homes could be even more $$$.
He also says that he hears us yelling at each other when we have a conversation when we are riding by his home and he is afraid to put his daughter on her bike because we come down the road at a high rate of speed and she might get hurt…
I am enraged at this person for not only being a rich “JERK” but who the hell does he think he is …This is a Public Road and if they wanted a private road it should have been done when they first built the Damn road…
Lets get some info on how we can stop this A-Hole from closing a great piece of road that is scenic and dear to all the cyclist’s that have come down to ride in this beautiful area…Sorry for the bad spelling but I had to get this out I was so pissed off
