Presta Valve extension tech question...(boring)

So I’m trying to use the TNI valve extensions for tires with removable valve cores and I’ve read in order to prevent leaks I need to use teflon tape to create a better seal. Does anyone know where exactly I place the tape? I can’t think that it would be directly on the threads , but I’m not quite sure where else it would go. Maybe a better way to put it is do I use the tape internally on the threads before I screw in the extension or externally after it is attached. Apologies for the stupid question just want to make sure I get it right. Thanks for your help!

No need to apologize - your question is fine. Teflon tape goes on the threads. Plumbers use it when connecting pipe to prevent leaks. The tape is extremely thin and quite slippery so it seals any holes where leaks might occur.

Wrap the male end with teflon (plumber’s tape) and then thread. Works very well…

And wrap it in the direction that the threads tighten so it will not try to come off as you tighten the extender on.

Perfect, thanks everyone. That makes sense to me and should be a snap (famous last words).
