Ok
I’ll play the predict my time game
Just did a 70,3,
Open water ocean swim calm conditions: 30 mins which included transition
Bike : 2 hours 32 including transitions reasonable flat course
Run 1.39 flat course
This was a total of about 4:42 done untapered and after a normal week of training for an Ironman at the end of March.
Ironman course will be fairly similar with the bike course being on a slightly faster surface
Some prior history:
Non IM marathon best time is 3.00
Best IM time is 10.06
3rd year of proper IM training
Please predict my time
There are a thousand formulas on this board, the simplest is double your HIM and add an hour. In this case 9:24.
Good luck
What IM are you planning on doing?

Apparently it’s not that simple.

Nope. I couldn’t get it to add up either.
Melbourne, Aust.
It seems like the best predictor of your IM time would be your previous times adjusted for your relative level of fitness between then and now. That’s not really in your information.
You mean 10:24.
I was gonna guess 10:15.

11:02
.
I’m going with DNF, cos you spent too long wondering about this shite in place of training
Hope I’m not right… what do I win if i’m right?
If you’re racing Mel 2014 then it depends on the wind. 2012 was a tailwind the whole way on the run with fast bike and especially run times. Last year was very strong north westerlies that resulted in the swim being cut to 1.5km, and slower bike and run times. So I guess 9.45-10.15 depending on the weather.
