Pre-race injury. Graphis PIC. DONT LOOK if you can't handle blood

ok, so i have my second TRI on monday (jacks generic). I was out today practicing mounting on the bike with the shoes clipped on, when my left shoe clipped off and my little toe rolled against the asphalt…
looked down and i thought that some plastic had gotten stuck to my bloody toe. it was actually the nail and some skin… nice …
ripped off the excess skin/nail and rode barefoot back home.
does any one know what i could do to control the bleeding when i wear shoes? should i have a band aid on it now or should i let it air so that it can coagulate better?

anyway. anyone else is welcome to share prerace injury stories and how it didnt affect the race outcome just to cheer me up a bit.
oh… i included the pic for educational purposes only…

Clean it well, and then everyone’s favorite – superglue.

The pic is pretty blurry. Not so bad looking though…

You’ll be fine.

super glue sounds like a good idea as far as the bleeding… i’m not going to absorb and chemicals through the wound though right? i guess as long as they numb it up and maybe even perform as an enhancer it’ll be ok…
thanks

Rock climbers (I am one of them) use Krazy Glue quite a bit, with generally good results. I have been able to climb after gluing a bit of finger tip back on. It is used in various forms of surgery. I have read different things about whether Super Glue is toxic. The answer is not clear, but why take the risk? So, if you are going the glue route, I would recommend Krazy Glue, not Super Glue.
