OK, I am not catholic – I have a question (I am truely ignorant in this area)
Around the world people are parying for the Pope to get better, to not die, etc.
Well, what if the Pope is suffering?? I mean - He is the Pope - if there is a guy who is a sure bet to go to heaven - it’s the Pope. He does not need to live so he can make amends for his sins.
Would it not be best to pray for a swift painless end?? The Pope has lead a wonderful, service filled life and a long one at that. A great life. Why not pray “God, the Pope has lead a great and long life, I hope he does not suffer much when it is his time to meet you.”
I mean if I was the Pope, I would not want to suffer a lot, I would be pissed if God answers the prayers of millions and kept me around and I had to suffer.
I really don’t know if the message is out there to specifically pray for him to live, rather, for him in general. Whether it’s God’s will to let him live or to die is just that…God’s will.
His condition is most likely terminal at this point and it’s just a matter of time before he passes.
You pray for his soul. He is a man, and like all men, not without sin. This life on earth is transitory, and he is showing us all how to face the end with courage.
does anyone know if he has to pass on before a new Pope is appointed? Seems to me if he knew his time was coming to an end that he should have passed the torch, so to speak, by now. Gotta give him credit if he is as sick as they say trying to adress the faithful yesterday must have taken a lot out of him.
