Powertaps, rims and disc covers

I’m waiting for my Elite+ 28h PT to arrive but I still can’t decide which rim to put it in. The options are DT RR1.1, Mavic OP, or Hed Jet 60 C2. I have preliminarily ruled out the RR1.2 due to weight unless people think there is a significant advantage as I can get the DT rims for the same price.

The main considerations for me are cost and use of a wheel cover. Obviously the Hed with a cover is like a bump disc as has been discussed on here quite a lot, but I can’t seem to find anything useful regarding the differences between the 2 low profile rims.

I put a Jet 60 C2 on the list because I already have a Jet V60 wheelset so I would sell the rear and put the proceeds towards a rim. However, my concern is that there won’t be clearance for the tyre between the seatstays. Currently a 23mm GP4000 won’t fit so I use a Conti Attack. Given that the wider rim affects the profile of the tyre, a) is a 23mm tyre more likely to fit? or b) any difference if I stuck with the 22mm on a C2?

The cost differences having sold the current Jet would only be an extra £50 over a new low profile wheel.

Thoughts?

Can anybody measure the width of the tyre on a C2 rim at the logo area?

tyre width will vary even between different so-called ‘23mm’ tires. I wouldn’t expect a GP4000 to fit on your bike just because you use a different (wider)rim. I don’t know if using a 22mm tire will help at all, with the whole premise of the C2 rim being its extra width.

I just bought a new powertap pro+ and laced it to a Jet 60 C2, so I think that’s a great choice overall though.

If you’re in philly you’re welcome to try the fit of my wheel on your frame.
